FVSA Vice President Blog March 2025
A very quick February update…
Welcome Fair – Block 2
Firstly, congratulations to the winners of the £20 love2shop voucher, £50 student hamper and the Lenovo tablet. Well done! And thank you to all who entered the word hunt and completed the feedback survey.
We were really pleased to hear how much you all enjoyed the mix of stalls, entertainment and freebies that were available.
STEP
My third STEP Discovery Day is fast approaching and I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully, once the fourth and final Discovery Day is complete, I’ll be able to put together an informative report and post it as part of my final blog post.
Student Mental Health Agreement
The first meeting of the SMHA working group was a great success! It’s so encouraging to be involved with a group of members of FVC staff who are just as passionate regarding student mental health as I am.
We aim to coincide the launch of the updated SMHA at FVSA’s planned Mental Health event in March.
Student Awards
The FVSA team continue to plan the upcoming Student Awards 2025 event. Nominations are now open for you to nominate students, and staff, who you feel have gone above and beyond this year.
Keep an eye out for further upcoming information on the awards.
Volunteering Opportunities
FVSA have progressed in working together with a new volunteering organisation to be able to bring new opportunities to students. This is a very exciting time for the team, potentially being able to present these possible opportunities to you.
QAA Student Reviewer role
A few months back I submitted my application for the role of Student Reviewer. I am really excited to announce that I was successful and was offered the position. I am really proud of myself in putting myself forward for this role and for stepping out of my comfort zone.
I’ll be able to post more information on this new role in next months blog.
Other things I’ve been involved in…
